Every month brings one painter: a letter about her life, three postcards of the paintings, and three museum labels to go beside them. Put them up, and live with them until the next one arrives.
When the month is over, the postcards come down off the wall, get written on, and go back into the post. A grandmother in another country receives a Stettheimer and a sentence from a six year old.
Posted flat, so nothing arrives creased. The envelope is the only part designed to be thrown away.

In 1912 the family was in Paris, and Florine went to see the Ballets Russes. The scenery had been painted by real painters, the costumes were enormous and strange, and every single thing on that stage had been made by somebody who wanted to astonish you.
